Hyper-V Licensing

Hello All,

I have a question regarding licensing between two Hyper-V hosts.
We just recently purchase a server with Server Datacenter 2019 running Hyper-V (server 1)
We would like to replicate VMs to an older server running Hyper-V core 2019 (server 2)

If we needed to fail over completely to server 2, how does licensing work for that? Would all of the vms remain licensed?

Thanks

Each host needs to be licensed. If they were both DataCenter then AVMA would have worked. In this circumstance you can re-activate after the move.

    slmgr /ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
    slmgr /ato
