Hi Alex,
I may have found a solution, but I still need to test to verify. I'll post here as soon as I have an update.
Thanks,
Al

Hi,
I've added 10 users to the "[Site Name] Visitors" permissions group. SharePoint shows I shared the site with these 10 users. They also received the site invitation via email. When they try to access the site, they receive the following error message: "Sorry, you don't have access."
They then request access, I approve it, and they still cannot access (receiving the same error message).
Any tips?
Thanks!

Hi Alex,
Unfortunately, still experiencing issues. I'm not sure what I can do at this point.
Hi Gresdawg,
I just tested with a new site collection created with a project site template. After I shared the site, the user can access the site immediately. Can you check the detailed permissions for the Visitors permission level? (Click the Read permission on your last screenshot)
Also, do you have any other site you can test? We want to know whether this only happens to this one site.
The receivers, may I know whether they are external users or internal users?
Regards,
Alex
Hi Alex,
I tried using private browsing, and signing out and back in. Unfortunately, neither worked.
It has been over a day since I added the users, so it can't be a time delay.
I am using a project site template, so I do not have a "members" option in the top-right. I added the user to the permission group "Project A Visitors". When I click the "share" option in the top right corner, it shows that I have shared it with the user I added to the permissions group.
I don't have a "site permissions" option directly under the gear button (maybe this is due to a project site vs team site?). Here are the steps I took: gear button > site settings > site permissions > permission levels.
Thanks,
-Gresdawg
Hi Gresdawg,
You can suggest your user try the private mode of browser to open the link. Or let your users sign out first and sign in again.
I tried to add the users in my test site as well, and there are a few minutes delay before the actions take effect when I add the users as members by clicking Members on the top-right > add members. The other methods like adding the user to the permission group or sharing the site with the user will make the user be able to access the site imminently.
For further troubleshooting, can you share a screenshot of the Visitors permissions with us like this:
Click the gear button > Site permissions > Advanced permission settings:
Click the Permission levels on the page and check the permission under Site Permissions:

Alex
