Word features grayed out

Since a recent update the opening view that Word displays has changed with none of the word features shown other than templates for a document. When I try to, for example, print an envelope and go tooptions a

More information is needed. What do you see when you start Word, exactly? A screen shot would help.

I am an independent advisor willing to help you.!

Please check if that update is working wrong because any operative system update is missing, check for updates and restart the computer before check if the feature works.

If it still in gray out check if you have administrative permissions in the windows profile, try to create a new local administrator windows profile and check the office behavior!

NO!  I made sure Word was current before going through this circular mindless process
