Firstly, we would like you suggest check whether your Office applications are up to date? To check the follow the steps:
Open the Finder> Application> Click on the Word application and check the version number beside the application name. (we provided this method because you can’t open the application)
If you can open any Office application for example Excel, Open the Excel application> Click on Excel in Menu bar> About Excel.
If you’re using Office 365 subscription or Office 2019 for Mac, the latest version 16.25 (190512).
If you’re using Office 2016 for Mac, the latest version 16.16.10 (190512).
If your Office application are not up to date, follow the below steps:
First download a fresh copy of the current version of AutoUpdate from this link, install and then run AutoUpdate to bring your installation to current update level, then restart your Mac.
After, Open the any Office application> Click on the Help menu> Select Check for Updates to launch AutoUpdate> Uncheck the box to be in the Insider program if it is checked> Then check for updates> Update the latest version.
If you’re using the latest version and encountering the problem, we suggest you refer the steps in followingarticle and check the outcome.
If still problem occurs, please provide the following information:
a. When did the problem occurs to start? After updating the Office applications or macOS.
