Hyperlinks not working in PowerPoint

Question

I have a problem with hyperlinks not working when opening my PowerPoint presentations.  I create the PowerPoints, insert hyperlinks to other documents on my computer, and then save the PowerPoint.  When I re-open the PowerPoint to show the presentation, the hyperlinks are no longer functioning.  I am using PowerPoint version 14.7.3 and a MacBook Pro using version 10.14.6 (Mojave).  This is driving me crazy!  I have to re-insert the hyperlinks every time I open any of my saved PowerPoints.

Are your using PowerPoint 2011 for Mac? You post this question in Office 2016 for Mac category, but per my searching, I can just find the Mac 2011 14.7.3 Update.

Your version of Office doesn't have the final 14.7.7 update applied. Please download the most recent version of Microsoft AutoUpdate from this page: Release history for Microsoft AutoUpdate (MAU) Install it, then use Help>Check for Updates in any Office program to install the final release. Then see if the problem has gone away.

Please note, if you upgrade to Cataline, Office 2011 will stop working and you'll have to upgrade Office.
