BOTTOM align in EXCEL cells

Hi There,

I CANNOT get numbers to align at the bottom of a cell in EXCEL.  Oddly, in the past when I've had this problem the only way I've been able to simulate bottom alignment has been to choose CENTER.  At that point, my numbers would often align at bottom to the of the cell.  Choosing BOTTOM would cause the numbers to migrate UP?!?!?!

It feels as though it's related to the padding built into the various fonts I might be using.  In WORD, I can correct for this by choosing line spacing that is less than SINGLE (.8, for example), but EXCEL doesn't give me that option.

Thanks so much for any help.

PS  I would have attached a copy or pasted a copy into this message but was unable to do either.  Here's a screen shot, which won't show any underlying formatting issues.  It does show the problem - both with text and numbers - though.   Not a good day at the (Microsoft) Office....

Please upload your file (maybe with anonymous data) on an online file hoster like www.dropbox.com and post the download link here.

A macro to anonymize data in selected cells can be downloaded here:

Please do not use OneDrive, we need a 1:1 copy of the file.

    Andreas.
