Hi RyanMJ5,
Since the column is not properly deleted, I believe this is the reason behind the error you are getting when creating a new view and editing existing view. Let’s try deleting the column again from List Settings.
- Click Settings, select List Settings.
- On the List Settings, in theColumnssection, select the name of the column that you want to delete.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Edit Column pane and then select
Delete.
- Select OK to delete the column and the data in the column permanently.
If the above method, didn’t delete the column, then let’s use SharePoint designer 2013 (it is
a web and application design program used to build and customize SharePoint sites and applications).
- Open SharePoint designer 2013 (press the Windows key on your keyboard and type SharePoint Designer into the search box). When you open SharePoint Designer 2013, the backstage view appears, because
SharePoint Designer is designed to work only with SharePoint, you must connect SharePoint Designer to an existing site.
- Click Open Sites and enter the site URL
https://tenantname.sharepoint.com/sites/Sitename/
- Once the site opened, click List and Libraries on the left navigation panel, on the right, you’ll see all
the list created in the site.
- Click on the affected list name to open, under Customization section, click Edit Lists columns

5. Select the column name and click Delete on the ribbon
6. click Save

After trying the above steps, check whether the column is deleted or not.
To download and install SharePoint Designer 2013, see Download and install SharePoint Designer 2013.

Note: Overall, an user needs to be a member of one of the following groups at the site collection level to be able to use SharePoint Designer and modify SharePoint content:
- Site Collection Administrators
- Designers
- Owners
Thanks,
