Cannot edit document (Word for Android)

I cannot edit anything I download when it comes to docx files sent via android email even after download, is anyone else facing this exact same problem?

    No, there's no message to get a screenshot, but, if I try and put a letter or number in, nothing happens.

    I am trying to save my document but it wont let me , the message i am reading is  READ ONLY  please help

    Additionally, please do assure that files or word document is not in read only mode.

    To check open word app / file> properties > general tab > attributes > uncheck read only > ok.

    The bad thing is people have to upload their files to that one drive first before saving it to their phone, because when it comes to saving a copy of the file to their device, it won't save to the device, it's happened twice with me so far
