sync delay: you maybe experiencing a temporary sync delay due to high service activity

Split from this thread.

recently just migrated from dropbox to Onedrive

I'm having exactly the same issue - and interestingly we are also migrating from DB > OneDrive.

Would this indicate then that the delay is an automatic limit on individual users uploading a significant amount in one go?

In order to make the switch I've had to split larger files into RAR archives to get around the out-of-date 15GB file restriction in OneDrive, so it's been taking a while (1 week to date) to get all the files uploaded. This is the first day I've seen the message with 434.3GB uploaded so far.

Windows 10 Pro version 1803

OneDrive (insider preview ticked) Version 2019 (Build 19.067.0404.0004)

Connection: 2x TalkTalk load balanced lines - 30Mb up / 8Mb down

Connected via PoE Gigabit Ethernet LAN

Microsoft 365 and Office | OneDrive | For home | Windows

Hi A.T.O,

I would like to confirm how you migrate the files from Dropbox to OneDrive.

If you copy and paste the files directly to OneDrive, please check the limitation of OneDrive:

You can also check the suggestions in this article: Maximize upload and download speed

For the sync limitations, please check this article:

Invalid file names and file types in OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, and SharePoint

Do you have OneDrive sync client and Dropbox local application? They should have a local folder, it is more recommended to do the migration in the local folder.

And I suggest you upload the files to OneDrive in batches since it seems that you have a lot of data.

In addition, since you are using Insider version of OneDrive, please try using Production version if the suggestions above all don't work:

Best Regards,

Gloria
