SharePoint Options Missing

Hello,

Today a user found that they no longer were able to do anything with items in any document library.

The grey bar above the document library should have options such as the search bar, new, upload, sync, export, flow, more options, anything. It just appears blank grey for them. They also cannot individually download items. Also views and filter are not appearing either for them.

Please note that they had no issues with this before, and no permissions have been changed. They should have access to all these items. Other users with the same permissions are having no issue, and they are using Chrome. The issue occurred in Firefox as well.

Any help is welcome, thank you.

Hi LadyLink,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by the issue, we will help you do troubleshooting for it.

Based on your description, seems the issue only happens to a specific user. We'd like to confirm information below:

1.Have you let the affected user try using different browsers to check the outcome in the document libraries? In addition to Chrome and Firefox, try browser private window, Edge and Internet Explorer as well.

2.In a document library, if the affected user clicks the Show actions button(3 dots) next to a file, can they see the actions list and use the actions(Open, Preview, Share, Copy link, Download and so on) normally?

If yes, the issue may be a temporary network issue.

Does the affected user uses the same network environment as other users having no issue? We also suggest letting the affected user try another different network and see if issue happens.

Besides, we'd like to know information below for troubleshooting. Appreciate your time and effort.

1.Screenshots about the issue's symptom.

2.Please share a screenshot of the user's permission regarding a document library.

(Library settings>Permissions for this document library>Check Permissions, enter the affected user's name, click Check Now, then capture a screenshot of the page. )

3.Seems the issue happens to all libraries in the SharePoint site. Does the user have the same issue in another SharePoint site?

Regards,

Tina
