I'm using Office 365 and have MFA enabled on my device. I can't sign into Word. Whenever I do and then click accept in Authenticator, I get a prompt that has a checkmark that says "Allow my organization to manage my device". If I click Yes, I get a message that says

Something went wrong.

We weren't able to register your device and add your account to Windows. Your access to org resources may be limited.

Hi DavidDawson100,

Can you sign into other Office apps, such as Excel or PowerPoint?

You don’t have to sign into all the Office apps separately. If you are signed into PowerPoint or Excel, Word should be fine. If you get the same error in Excel and PowerPoint, then try removing the stored password from Credential Manager and then try again

  1. Sign out from Office applications and quit all Office applications opened on your system. To sign out, open any Office application, let’s say Excel, click File>Account>Sign out.
  2. Open Control Panel>User Account>Credentials Manager>Windows Credentials>Delete all MicrosoftOffice16 and MicrosoftOffice15 credentials.

      3. Restart computer and open Office applications to reactivate to see the outcome.

If the issue persists, please provide the screenshot of Office 365 Product Information. To get this screenshot, open Excel or Word on your system, click File>Account, capture the screenshot of all the information mentioned under Product Information. (Note*: please remove any sensitive information from the screenshot such as email address or full name etc.).*

Thanks,

Neha
