Row spacing in Word tables

Hi all,

I have been using a resume template in Word and can't replicate the spacing they had between the rows in their tables - image attached below. I have tried looking at:

 - sliding the bar on the margin - this only moves the row up and down, but the text stays tight to the top

  • "allow spacing between cells" in table properties
  • "spacing before" in paragraph options - since it looks like the gap is applied to the row underneath rather than above

I'm sure it's a simple fix, please help! The top image is the template table, the bottom one is a new table created.

The cell in the first row of Table AB has the Top Margin setting as defined for the whole table, which is 0”

The cell in the second row of Table AB has the Top Margin set at 0.15”

In Table XY, the cell in both rows has the Top Margin setting as defined for the whole table, which is 0”

The spacing is probably controlled by the Cell Margins (Top and Bottom), which can be set either for individual cells or for the Table as a whole, the latter being via the Options button on the Table tab of the Table Properties dialog.

Thanks, but no luck! When I compare both tables the Cell Margin settings are identical. Any other ideas?

See if some Spacing Before or Spacing After has been applied to the text in cells. (Similarly, for spacing on the right or left, indentation applied to text would be a factor.)

Also, see if the vertical alignment of cells is set to Top or to something else.
