Modern bug: exit quick edit doesn't work

Yet another frustrating bug that results from the amateurish development practices in this product. After quick editing a few items when you click exit quick edit nothing apparently happens. Usually if you refresh the view, the changes have worked - why oh why do we have to deal with this nonsense constantly?

It also happens to me erratically, it usually happens when I am making a lot of changes very quickly. For example when I use the drag fill-in function (dragging from the bottom right corner) over multiple pages i.e. drag till bottom of the screen, mouse scroll down, drag again, mouse scroll, drag again.

    Hi,

I can confirm, that on a completely different tenant (I am not associated with webrewser3 in any way) I am experiencing the same issue.

It is erratic however, as what I have found so far:

The Exit Quick Edit button doesn't work if I am in the same folder I applied changes in, and it is the deepest folder in the folder tree (has no subfolders).

When I am stuck with no way to exit QE mode, I go one level up on the folder structure, and there Exit button works properly.

It also works fine on the root level of a library.

    To sum up:

Library Level - Enter QE, and then exit QE works fine

    • subfolder - Enter QE and Exit QE doesn't work; have to navigate one level up.

    -- sub-subfolder - as above.

    webbrewser3,

Thanks for getting back to me.

In my test environment, if I click Exit quick edit, the changes will appear without refreshing the view.

If the issue happen with multiple users in your tenant, I suggest you asking them to provide a repro video and then you can open a ticket in admin center, our engineer will know the behavior better and provide further assistance.

    Sorry for your inconvenience.

    Regards,

    Eric

I've seen multiple users in my tenant have the problem and I'm sure it's not being widely reported because people are seeing the changes take even though the exit quick edit doesn't do anything. It's another of those annoying glitches that afflict the modern ui because it hasn't been thoroughly tested.

    Hi webbrewers3,

    Nice to meet you.

I still couldn't repro the issue this time, here is my steps and screenshot.

    1. Create a new list and click Quick edit

    2, Click Exit quick edit

I test in both Chrome and Edge, please try change your browser and see if the issue happen again.

Does the issue happen in a specific list/library or all the lists/libraries randomly?

Please create a new list and see if the issue still occur.

    Thanks for your cooperation.

    Regards,

    Eric
