Excel Copy & Paste - Stop Alphabetizing

Good Evening,

When I copy from the cell address window on an Excel spreadsheet, the pasted values are always alphabetized.  Here is an example:

A1:A15, N1:N15, B1:B15, it always pastes in alphabetical form - A1:A15,B1:B15,N1:N15.  My question is: is there anyway when copying from a worksheet using the cell address window, to lock the copied information so that Excel pastes the information in the sequence requested?

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to this request.

Al

Hello,

Since this is an issue with regard to Excel function, it would be best if you can send us a sample of the file you are working on so we can also check it here in our end. Also, can you elaborate on how you are trying to paste the said values and what would be the result.

If you would like me to provide additional advice, simply respond to this thread. I will get notified and I’ll reply to you as soon as I can.

Regards

Thank you for replying, Almc. We would really like to see a bigger picture of what you are trying to do. If you can't be able to send a copy of the file you are working on, maybe you can send us a screen video of the Excel application. You can use the Powepoint application to record the screen of your computer and you can send it to us through OneDrive. To learn more about this, you can check out this article.

    Regards.

    Good Evening

First of all, thank you for responding.  Believe me, I truly value the community as a learning experience.  The private message makes me think that I have broken a rule or something like that.  Hope not, because this community is a tremendous resource.

I can't send a file but perhaps I can better explain.  The file I am using has over 1,000 columns so I use the name box (also known as cell address) to enter the columns I would like to copy.  For example, I enter the following: A1:A15, N1:N15, B1:B15 into the name box.  My hope is that when I paste the columns will remain in the same relationship as when I copied them.  However, it always pastes alphabetically.  From my experience with Access, I can set the order that data are retrieved.  I was hoping that  someone could help me do the same with Excel?

I hope this is a bit clearer.

    Thank you for responding.

    Al
