Remove Email Option from MFA/SSPR authentication options

Question

Hi,

I wanted to remove email option from a MFA/SSPR authentication methods. I was wondering where is the settings in Azure/M365 for that?

I have removed already adding alternative phone by unticked "Call to Phone" on user based MFA settings in M365 but I couldn't find the Email settings there.

You can go to Password reset option in AAD :

Then select the Authentication method you want or uncheck the email option in your scenario :

MFA doesn't have this kind of authentication method, there are all of supported authentication method for MFA: Authentication method strength and security
