sharepoint online tool bar missing

Question

The tool bar disappeared from office 365 sharepoint documents. I can no longer upload, download, or open any file stored there. The toolbar re-appears if I switch from google chrome to safari or use my own OneDrive instead of the shared site. I am also on a Mac and do have admin rights to the office 365 share site. How do I get the tool bar back?

I just tested with Chrome on Mac and all the toolbar shows fine:

Some of the buttons on the toolbar can be hidden in the library setting or site settings, but not the whole toolbar. To troubleshoot this issue, can you try the following and share the results with us?

1. You mentioned that safari can show the toolbar, Chrome can't. Have you tried the incognito mode of Chrome? If not, could you try that?
2. How about other shared sites or other document libraries in the same site?
3. If you drag a file and drop it in the library page in Chrome, is there going to be an error message or the file gets uploaded?

Also, can you try updating Chrome and see if it makes any difference.

I have a similar problem.

I tried going incognito and the menu bar appeared. 

Context: I am in China, I do not see the menu bar in Chrome with or without a VPN.
