Adding Yammer Group Member - Error Message

I'm having trouble adding a user to my Yammer Group. When I search the email to find the member in my group, it doesn't show up with a result in group members. When I click to Add Member to Group, it says that this member is already part of the group. 

The user has received the invitation to join my group by email, but can't seem to accept because it says that their invitation is "pending". Can someone help explain why I can't invite this user to my group?

    Greetings !!

    Thank you for posting,

    If you make any changes for the group members in Yammer like adding or removing members it may take some time to reflect it on the portal.

    If the user was alredy invited to group using email invitation, however the user is not able to join the group then please verify if the email address on which the invitation was received and the email address of the user in Yammer is same. There is a possibility that the invitation email was sent to the email address "@contoso.com"  and the email address present on Yammer is "@contoso.onmicrosoft.com" in this scenario the group member will not be able to join the group.

    You can verify the email address of the user present in Yammer by searching the user in the top left search bar and once the euser profile is loaded than look at top right corner and confirm the email address of the user  in Yammer.

    Also please note that the email invitation sent from Yammer to the user using the Distribution list email address will also not work as Yammer cannot distinguish the difference and consider the email of Distribution as the actual user.

    If you are not able to add the user to group as he is not reflecting  in the search list, it may be possible that the user might not have activated his Yammer profile and might be a pending user in Yammer. If the user logs in to Yammer for the first time than only the Yammer profile for that user gets activated. 

    You can also try to add users in Yammer using below option if they are not appearing in the search results.

    • Login to Yammer.
    • Navigate to the Yammer group as the group admin.
    • Once logged on to the Yammer group  click on the top right gear icon (Setting)
    • Click on Import from Address book.
    • Create a Excel CSV File in below format and upload.
    • Email Address
      user1contoso.com
      ******@contoso.com
