SharePoint Modern Page using Document Library Webpart

I've created a modern page where i am using the document library web part.  In the normal document library we are able to add links to documents or other pages.  That option is missing when using the webpart and it's not showing the links we've shared.  Is there a way to have that available within the webpart without making the end users click on view all to open the document library?

I don't mind classic and used to it.  The only problem i have is that I can't change it to classic because that makes it more difficult for people to add some mandatory information on fields when saving their document.    You used to be able to fill it out at the top of the screen but can't anymore and have to go to properties and it apparently doesn't like multiple line columns there.  To me it was a pain to have to go there to fill any of it out...ugh.  I know my end users would NEVER fill it out doing it that way. and I don't blame them.

I'm trying to make this as easy as possible for everyone and a project that used to take me probably a couple days to a week to pull together..(don't get me started with issues with Flow) it's taking me months because i keep on running into walls with something that functions different or doesn't have the functionality at all.  :(

I used to love SharePoint.  I'm starting to lose faith a bit.

Yet another totally ridiculous limitation in the modern ui. Msft seems determined to force users to stick with classic.

    Hi DCNehs,

Thanks for your query in this community.

Unfortunately, it's not feasible to achieve what you requested, the New function in the Document Library webpart is set as default, user could not add or edit the items inside of it.  So, in the scenario you described, the normal user have to open the document library to add the links item.

Given this kind of situation, if you have a strong concern on this, we would recommend you share your idea in SharePoint UserVoice, which is a specific platform for us to collect user's request. Your suggestion will help us improve our Products and give users a better experience.

Or, if it’s convenient for you, you could use the Link webpart to meet your requirements in adding links directly at the home page.

    Your understanding is highly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Alex Chen
