Missing source lists for drop down lists

I am working on excel online, and my spreadsheet has lots of drop down lists, which I created a few months ago.  I need to add another item on all the lists, but found that only one of my source lists is still there.  I added the item to that list without any problem, but cannot do so to the other lists if the source lists are not there!  It is very strange because the drop down function still works for those columns even though there is - seemingly - no source list to draw from.  I am losing the will to live.

I have googled advice on this and people with similar (although not the same) problems have been advised to use the VBE (?) to sort it out, but I can't use that with online excel and when I tried it on another computer (which can use proper Excel), it still didn't help find the missing lists.

Any ideas? And please use language which isn't too techy, because I'm not a regular Excel user and am self-taught!

Thanks

Theresa

    Hi,

If the drop down list still works which means your source list still exists, check if there is any hided rows or columns and unhide them.

If you still couldn't find the source list, I suggest you changing to another browser like Chrome or Edge.

If you have license for Office 365 for business, downloading Office suite and opening the workbook in local client to exclude reason form Excel Online.

    Best
