Document content shrinks when going from Single-sided to Double-sided printing

I can't figure out why a 2-page document I've created in Word 2019 shrinks when I try to print it double-sided.  For some reasons, the margins squeeze the document about 10% (single-sided printing on two sheets of paper looks fine).  How can i fix this?

Most printers have a larger unprintable area (at least at the bottom of the page) when duplexing, required for paper handling (to hang onto the paper and suck it back in).

That could be the case, but I tried printing something that was not even closed to a full page of text (with normal margins) and it still shrunk the content.  Maybe it does that protectively, but I swear it didn't happen before I upgraded recently to Windows 10.
