OneNote Sync Issue - Multiple users file

I am experiencing a Sync Issue with MS OneNote in Office 365 when syncing with other users. One on the notebook pages seems to be causing the issue, but we cannot figure out the problem. This issue first appeared  on the 30/05/19 and is still showing the same error.

We are reviving the following error message: We're sorry, something went wrong during sync. We'll try again later. (Error code: 0xE0000B56)

Could you let me know what is the problem  and if there is a way to solve it?

Hi Javier,

Thank you for your update. Since you have already found the page that caused this issue, I'd recommend copying this page to a new workbook or document to fix this sync error.

You also mentioned that this notebook is collaborating by multiple users, and thence you couldn't remove this page because once you deleted the page and fixed the sync issue, the notebook would be synced back to your notebook again. In this case, I'd suggest going to OneNote.com and open the notebook in OneNote Online to remove this page.

Please let us know if there is any update.

Best Regards,

Nathan

    Hi Nathan,

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, this is not fixing the issue.

Creating a new notebook works, but once you copy the file which was causing sync issues, then it stops synchronising again.

I have tried to copy the info into word and clear all formatting, re pasting into a new notebook, but it gives the same outcome.

I have tried to delete the page from the notebook causing the issue, but as it won't sync, then it keeps appearing on other users notebook, so the issue remains.

The Section causing the issue those note have too much info in it, so I don't think is a size issue. Have tried to keep only the first lines, and again, same issue.

    Thanks,

    Javier

    Hi Javier,

Please go to OneNote.com and check if the notebook has been successfully synced. If the notebook hasn't been synced, please don't close the notebook, or you would lost your notes.

If the notebook has been completely synced, you may close the notebook on your OneNote application, then open the notebook in OneNote.com, and click the "Open in OneNote" button to sync it back to your PC.

If there are contents of the notebook  that haven't been synced, please try the following steps to fix the sync error:

    1. Create a new notebook, make sure it can sync;
    2. Right click on the page tabs of the notebook couldn't sync > copy it to the new notebook.

If the sync issue happen again after you pasted a page to the new notebook, please check if there are too many large size files in the page, for example PDF printouts or other attachments. If so, you may try split the page into smaller pages by copying some contents to a new page and see this would work.

Please let us know if there is any update.

    Best Regards,

    Nathan
