Hi,

I am unable to sync a OneNote section. Error code: 0xE000012E.  I have created a new section, but the error will reoccur after a few days.

What does this error code mean?

In that situation, Microsoft documentations says, that we should force a synchronization, this is a similar error:

but in my own experience, I never able to repair a section "corrupted" from Onenote for Windows 10, with old version like Onenote 2016, 2013, there has a feature to repair a notebook. and by other hand, sections do not has "Historical version" that feature is only for pages.

    Dear swimmersteve,

Thanks for participating in the Microsoft Community. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll help you.

This is because Onenote local cache for that section is corrupted, I suggest you to create a new section in same notebook and try copy all pages, one by one to the new section and sync.

Also, you could repair your Onenote, in the search box in Windows toolbar type: Apps & Features, find Onenote click over it, then click in Advanced options, then Click on "Rapair"

Do not hesitate to ask if you need more information.

I hope it has been useful to you.

    Regards,

    Renzo.

Thanks Renzo for the suggestion.  I have recreated this section a few times now and it will get corrupt again after a few days.

I think there is something in the section that is causing the corruption.  This is what I found from the diagnostic log:

    Error.Code": "0xe000012e", "Error.Type": "Win32Error", "Error.Description": "jerrcFileNodeFileCorrupt_FileNodeListChunkMalformedRanOffEnd", "Error
