trigger quick commands in TEAMS

Dear all,

Kindly note that I am watching a tutorial on linkedin about how to use the tips and tricks of TEAMS. 

One of the things that I was not able to test in the below command. The instructor says that when i type /mentions should show me all message that I mentioned on.

Microsoft 365 and Office | Install, redeem, activate | For home | Other

    Hello Nightearth,

    Thanks for update. According to your description, seems command working but the issue is that you are not able to view activty in Feed, so we would like to suggest you to check feed settings for the command /mentions.

    To do so :

    • Open Teams settings from Teams application -> go to notification -> check banner and feed is set up for @mentions settings

    Note: These notifications remain in your feed for 14 days. After that they expire and no longer show in your feed. So kindly check if recent /mentions are updated in feeds or not.

    I tried the web version and the result is the same as you can in the below screenshot from mac laptop.

    if you want i can try from WIndows PC

    Hello Nightearth,

    Yes, when you use command , you will see the result in feed as well. Regarding your issue, may I know how many users are facing this issue?  To troubleshoot this issue, we would like to suggest you to open Teams Online and check whether command is working as expected or not. For Teams client issue, clear Teams cache via the below steps and still issue persist, reinstall Teams app and check the result.

    Fully exit the Microsoft Teams desktop client. To do this, either right click Teams from the Icon Tray and select ‘Quit’, or run Task Manager and fully kill the process.

    • Go to File Explorer, delete any of the files in the following locations:
    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\application cache\cache
    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\blob_storage
    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\databases
    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\cache
    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\gpucache
    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\Indexeddb
    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\Local Storage
    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\tmp
    • %LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache
    • %LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cookies
    • %LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Web Data
    • Go to IE option and remove the following two caches:
    • Internet Explorer Temporary Internet Files
    • Internet Explorer Cookies

    Hello Ankita,

    Thank you for your reply and sorry for the late response. I would like to state that according to the video that i watched on Linkedin tutorial the command result should appear under feed section.

    As you can see below that the result of my /mention command did not show anything.

    Hello Nightearth,

    Thanks for your post in Microsoft community. According to your post, we understand that , when you use command /mentions, you will find all the result in Teams. Generally once user type command /mentions from his Teams application, it means Teams will gives the result with highlighted @ on which user is mentioned.

    From my below screenshot, you can check mentioned commands are visible with @ on right side of the chat.

    In your shared screenshot, we also found the same result. So whenever your use command /mentions , you will get the result accordingly.

    Please correct if we misunderstood your concern.
