Edit Button on Quick Launch Pane

My tabs on my SharePoint team site are on the left-hand side of the side. When I used to click the "edit" button under the tabs it would allow me to add new tabs (pages, document libraries, etc.) and move them up and down on the pane. Now all of a sudden when I click the "edit" button it takes me to a completely separate "Navigation Settings" page. How do I get it to go back to the normal format where clicking edit simply allows you to add or remove tabs on the pane.

Hi Qing,

Using a new browser did not fix this.

I fixed it! I retraced my steps and remembered I activated "SharePoint server publishing infrastructure." I had to deactivate this to get it back to normal. Thanks!

    Hi KLRRR,

Thanks for posting on our forum.

Based on my test, I didn’t meet the situation on our side.

I suggest you try another browser to check the result.

If the issue still exists, can you provide the following information for further analysis?

    1. The screenshot of  "Navigation Settings" page.
    2. Check if all sites meet the issue.
    3. Confirm if all users click the edit button with the same result.
    4. When did the situation occur? Which operation have you taken before it occurred?

    Regards,

    Qing
