I received this message in my outlook email today. I am still receiving emails and such and i paid the fee for 365 back in Feburary.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         This message is from a trusted sender.

Hi,
I am an independent advisor, and I am trying to help other users using my experience with Microsoft products.
Thanks for your question!
This is a fishing email, just report it. Microsoft won't use such an attitude if you don't do this or that the account will be suspended.
You can check the link if you copy the link and paste it into notepad for example you will see that the link will be different.

I hope this helps!

Regards,
Kristina

Scam?

Hello Alex

Answer: Absolutely.

How can you tell? Hover over the link in the message to see where the link actually points to. In this case you'll see that it points to link that has nothing to do with Microsoft. Another way to verify a link is to right-click on it, select <Copy> and paste it in any text editor (i.e. Notepad). (applies equally to any message that appears to come from other major companies such as PayPal, Amazon etc)

The link

https://admin.microsoft.com/Adminportal/Reactivate

actually points to the following domain - (am not going to include the full link since it would serve no purpose in this response)

login.outlook-mail-microsoftonlnecom.help-office-pejsg.dynv6.net

Note: if your account was really suspended, you wouldn't be able to log into it normally (normally = using your browser without clicking on the link in the message)
