printing double rows

Anonymous
2019-04-16T00:27:58+00:00

I use MS Office 2010, when printing in either Excel or Word, some of the rows appear to be doubleprinted, there may be two perfect rows than three or four blurred rows.

When I save the file as a pdf and it prints perfectly

Any suggestions?

We are not printer experts. Try asking this question on the Cannon Support site. Give them the screen capture.

I found a review for a 922 dated 2013, so your printer is probably at least that old.

At first glance I thought it a font issue, on further review I agree with Doug it is most likely a printer head issue. One thing I noticed was that the problem seemed to be limited to a specific font size. The larger and smaller fonts seemed OK.  That suggests to me that there may be an issue with the mechanism that pulls the print head across the paper.  At that specific font size it may be slipping.

As to why the problem is limited to Word, my guess would be the way that the Word program interacts with the Printer Driver is slightly different.  For example, my HP printer can actually use drivers for 2 different printer languages, and 2 versions of one of the languages. Each one commands the printer slightly differently.

I guess you have two options:

    1. Buy a new printer
    2. Save to pdf and print the pdf

The problem has nothing to do with Word or Excel.  Rather it is a problem with the print head on the printer, which probably needs cleaning.

    Hi, thanks for your interest.

Printer is a Canon inkjet MX926

Problem occurs with Word and Excel files saved normally, If I save as PDF file they print perfectly

    Example attached (printprob)

Errors still show on the print test (printprob2)

What type of printer (make model): inkjet or Laser?

The only time I've seen blurred rows was on an old dot matrix printer.

Does it happen on all documents printed?

Try the printer "self test" feature.

Can you take a snap shot of an example page with a phone or camera and upload it here for us to see?
