Excel error while copying multiple tabs simultaneously

i have 2 tabs in the same excel sheets with data on either one. There are also formulas which are linking one excel sheets to the other. I want to copy both the excel tabs simultaneously so that the formulas are also copied to the respective new tabs created. However the tabs are not being copied and I am getting an error message saying that You cannot copy or move a group of sheets that contain a table. this was working fine in the previous versions of excel.

I am using Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus.

(Pls. note that if I copy only 1 tab at a time then the copy works but the formulaes are linked to the original sheet and not the new ones).

Hi BhaweshBoobna,

About the error code ”You cannot copy or move a group of sheets that contain a table”, I copy multiple sheets with table on my side, then it come out the same result as with you mentioned. However, when I copy or move the sheet one by one, the error message didn’t appear.

It could be an expected behavior in Excel, so we recommend you to vote this requirement in the Excel UserVoiceand many members have voted it. The higher votes, the more attention the related team will pay on. Many good ideas have been taken in this way. Your voice is also important to us. Microsoft is committed to continuously improving your experience with our products.

About the link problem you mentioned in the last, I test a simple formula like SUM in a sheet, then copy or move it, the formula is display the same as it is in the original sheet in the same cell like the below picture. The calculation will calculate the new pasted sheet but not the original sheet. Since I might not understand the problem well, could you please provide a screenshot of it for me to further investigate it? And which formula you are using?

Your understanding will be highly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Jazlyn

You have to paste special, unless of cause you simply use Save As for the workbook to a new name.

But why you would want to copy two tabs in the same workbook to repeat the calcs doesnt seem right to me
