Computer Objects from local AD are not getting synced to Azure AD

Hey there,

I'm facing a issue with the synchronization of our computers.
The error I get on many computers is: The device object by the given id (DEVICE_ID) is not found.

I tried several methods but so far nothing got it working for me.

What I've done so far:

  • I've configured Azure Hybrid Join in Azure AD Connect
  • I've added the computer objects manually in the Synchronization Service Manager

I really don't know why my computers are not getting synced to the Azure AD.
So far I even tried a Sync using the Azure Domain admin, but that didn't change anything, thus I guess it's not a permission problem.

The Connector that should synchronize does not have any error.

Now I'm at a point, where I don't know where to search next.

I appreciate any help

Thanks ahead

Lukas

@Neubauer, Lukas Thanks for reaching out and Apologizes for delay on this.

If you are facing this while doing a hybrid Azure AD join on a machine, this is part of the process where the device join process waits up for the onprem computer object to be synced to Azure AD using AAD connect and then the Device registration service should be able to add it.

The whole process should be done within 30 mins or so, are you still having issues with this ?
If yes, you can start the troubleshooting from this event viewer : Open the User Device Registration event logs in event viewer. Located under Applications and Services Log > Microsoft > Windows > User Device Registration

Let me know if you need any help, we can take this offline to have a look as well.
