Hello,

I've been having a problem to import a database from Postgresql in Excel from a ODBC Driver. I have installed the following:

  • PostgreSql - 32bits
  • PostgreSql ODBC Driver - 32bits
  • Office 365 Pro Plus - 32bit
  • Windows 10 - 64bit

The error that shows after I try to get Data by an ODBC connection is the following:

It didn't Actually ask me for user or password but I had Installed the ODBC Driver (32 bit) and tested the connection and it was successfull.

I think it might be some Issue of Excel or Windows, could somebody help me please?

Thank you!

Greetings.

Regarding the authentification error when connecting PostgreSQL database in Excel, you may try following and see if it will help:

1.Refer to the Note inthis article and make sure you have installed the Ngpsql data provider for PostgreSQL installed on your computer

    2.Click Data tab>Get Data>Data Source settings>Clear Permissions.

3.Or try running Excel in safe mode, then connect to the PostgreSQL database again.

    Thank you Tina,

The second one solved my issue perfectly. The error was that I confused the username by the server.

    Thanks,
