I am asked to change my password. For my new password, I entered a few variations of my new password and each time receive a error message. What the password character requirements? Ex: 1-15 letters, upper/lower case, numbers, no characters?

Hello Ehukai Haanio,

The following rules and restrictions apply to passwords for Office 365 for Buisness mailboxes:

1.  Passwords must be at least eight characters long.

2.  Passwords can have a maximum of 256 characters.

3.  Passwords can’t contain the user's account name or parts of the user's full name that exceed two consecutive characters.

  1.  Passwords must contain characters from three of the following four categories:

a.  Uppercase letters (A through Z)

b.  Lowercase letters (a through z)

c.  Numbers (0 through 9)

d.  The following non-alphabetic characters: ` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + - = { } | [ ] \ : " ; ' < > ? , . /

If you still cannot reset your password and you are an Office for Business user, you can contact your Office 365 admin to help you reset your password.

If this problem persists, to better assist you, please capture a screenshot when your get any error message and provide it to me. I will do my best to help you.

Seven
