Hey,

I have office 365 business and im having problems with excel.

It just wont print a colored spreadsheet without a reason, just prints it as BW.

  • print preview shows it in color
  • the same spreadsheet prints for other users just fine
  • works great in word for example
  • when im opening a new spreadsheet and coloring it,prints just fine.

i've tried re-installing the printer and Office 365 but didnt work.

Select File -> Print and then select Printer Properties link immediately under the printer name.

Check what option has been selected for for Color/Mono. Depending on the printer, the Properties dialog can vary but with my printer, the Color/Mono options has a Dropdown with Auto, Mono and Color.

If you reset it then ensure you save the workbook because the option should save with it.

    Hi N3tbloe,

Thank you for your message in this forum.

According to your description, it seems that you cannot print a colored Excel spreadsheet, and the others used same worksheet and it works fine. You have tried using Word and it also works fine, and you have tried opening a new spreadsheet and it also can be printed fine. You have also tried reinstalling printer and Office 365 but it didn’t work.

May I know if the scenario above is consistent with yours? If so, since you have tried the suggestions above, we’d also still want to give you some suggestions below and hope that will help you:

    1. Since you have tried creating a new spreadsheet without any problem when printing colored sheet, given this situation, we’d suggest you copy the content of problematic spreadsheet and paste into new spreadsheet to check if the same problem will occur.
    2. Please refer to this article: Update history for Office 365 ProPlus to update your Excel to the latest version.
    3. You can open your Excel in safe mode to check if the same problem will occur. It will help in identifying an add-in or extension that may be causing a problem on startup. As steps shown below: Right-click the Start button (lower-left corner) in Windows, and click Run.> In the Run box, type one of the command: excel /safe

If all suggestions above don’t work, to better understand your situation, could you provide the information below?

Could you provide the version of your Excel? You can go to Excel File > Account > Product Information and provide the screenshot of it.(Please remove you email address)

    Best Regards,

    Sukie

We appreciate that you posted back and confirmed the information with us.

May I know if you have tried the suggestions I provided above? Has your problem been solved? If you have any updates, you can post back and we will try our best to help you.

At the same time, you mentioned “i have problems with some spreadsheets not a single one”, you can create a new workbook and copy the content into new workbook to check if the same problem will occur.
