Print to File: How to disable?

Hi!

As per the title, I would like to ask how to disable the "Print to File" feature.

I have unchecked the "Print to File" dialog box already and disabled the "Print to PDF" feature from Windows.

However, initiating a file to Print to my printer still results in the "Print to file" dialog still opening.

Are there any fixes to this problem? I am quite literally unable to print any document because of this issue.

Thanks in advance!

Hi , I'm David, thanks for participating in the Microsoft Community. I'll do my best to help today.

Regards NeoTeng, You can easily disable the option to print from any application.

Click on "File" and then "Print" from any application.

Uncheck the "Print to file" option in the "Print" dialog box.

Select a printer from the active drop-down box

If your printer does not appear, select add printer

Click on "Print" to start printing the file as normal.

    Best Regards,

    David.

Hi David! Thank you for the reply.

Unfortunately I have already tried the method of unchecking the "Print to file" option in the "Print" dialog box as I have stated in my original post. However, the "Save As" dialog after initiating the Print still appears in spite of this.

What printer do you have selected as the default Windows printer?

Hello! I am an Independent Advisor, I would love to help you out!

Could you upload a screenshot of the print to file popup/dialog you are seeing, to make sure I am on the same page of what it is you are seeing?

And this is not allowing you to print to your printer. There is no option/drop down to select your printer instead?

We are experiencing the same issue, no matter which Windows Driver File or Plot File we have selected, when printing to our Plotter, the Print to File Box opens. If I print to one my other Printers, everything works... Sadly my other Printers can print up to A3 Size Max, that's why I need to print to our Plotter

You will see that "Print to File" has not been Selected...

Then after Selecting Print , the following Window pops up...
