I want to set my MFC to scan/email to our ODfB accounts.

We want to our large office scanners to scan to individual user ODfB folder.

We have moved off the server to SP/ODfB. Previously, our internal Canons would scan to a local folder for staff to collect. With the server gone, we want to set them to scan to a particular folder on our MS tenant.

We do not want users scanning/sending to their email because of the insane amount of bloat it would create. We can/have set up a scan to a SP site for each user but this seems crazy and too much overhead to maintain.

We have not found a simple or effective way to scan to a ODfB users folder. Since ODfB is essentially a subset of SP, it would seem like a no-brainer.

Now, maybe I have no brain... and I will own that... if you can show me what I am missing

thx

    Hi @David Ritchie ,
What is MFC? The scanner brand?
If yes, in my opinion this problem is more related to scanner settings, you can try to post this issue to the scanner brand's forum. The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Thank you for your understanding.
If my understanding is incorrect, please be a bit more precise to provide more information so that I can get more accurate solutions to this problem. I’m glad to help and follow up your reply.

No, this has nothing to do with the printer/scanner. Maybe it was not as concise as needed and maybe it was not actually read properly.

We want to set up the scanners to email to a user's OneDrive folder on the MS tenant

The multi function Canons can scan to email but we do not want this. Scanning to email will cause ridiculous bloat to users email storage.
We can set up a SharePoint site and enable/accept email to a specified site/folder
But it seems there is not a way to scan to a users ODfB folder

If we scan to SP, we can use a flow but that's a pain. It also seems that if we do that, the flow has to attached to the users account to properly run. It seems as though when the users PW changes, they have to update the flow and re-authenticate.

It just seems rather silly. If ODfB is actually just a subset of SharePoint... and we can enable scan to SharePoint... it just seems logical that we should be able to scan to ODfB.

I have now seen this raised in other forums and apparently this logical service is not offered. It really should not be that hard nor should it require work-arounds or 3rd party apps... it's sooooo basic that it's hard to understand why this is an issue.
