Shared document keeps closing

Hi there,

so I have been having some issues while using a shared document. No matter which file, word and excel, the file keeps closing when I open it outside of the online version. It can take between 2 seconds and around 5-10 minutes for it to close.

It also happens when I am the only one in the file. It doesn't show a crash report or anything it just closes.

I have tried reinstalling Onedrive, made sure my Word and Excel were newest versions but nothing seems to work.

I googled the problem but after hours still haven't found a single post that has the same issue.

I am using Word online now, but it just has limitations, and I have to work in the same document for my projects.

Thank you in advance!

If that is the situation, it's clear that the Office apps (Excel and Word) are working as expected and the issue is coming from OneDrive. With that being said, for you to have the best solution possible, please post this concern to the new OneDrive in-app support or Help Center. Click here to access the OneDrive Help Center. To access the in-app support, you may follow the steps below:

    Hi Oscar,

A possible reason why you encountered this issue was the location where the file was stored because you’ve mentioned that this happens to any types of file. What I can suggest, for us to isolate the issue, is to download the file and save it locally to your PC. Once done, you can open the file locally and check if you won’t encounter the issue.

Update us with the outcome so we can assist you further.

    Bob
