AutoSave Error

I have xlsx files saved on OneDrive.  When I open them in Excel and attempt to turn on AutoSave I get a pop up that says. "How do I turn on AutoSave?  Before AutoSave can save your file you need to fix the following issue.  We can save your file automatically.  To avoid losing your changes, please save the using File > Save." When you click that link says AutoSave only supports the modern, native, Office file formats such as docx, xlsx or pptx.  The file type I open meets that. Is this a known issue ho do you resolve so I can use the desktop app for collaboration.

    Hi,

My name is Naval and I am an Independent Advisor. I would like to help you.

Co-authoring with SharePoint, OneDrive, and Office is on by default, but there are situations that can block or prevent you from co-authoring with others.

Please read this Microsoft article to troubleshoot co-authoring in Office.
