I am trying to sort by task & resource name. I do this very frequently. But for some reason my "arrow" at the right of my task heading is not showing. Can anybody tell me why this might be?

Click the View tab to display the View ribbon in Microsoft Project.  In the Data section of the View ribbon, click the Filter pick list and select the Display AutoFilter item near the bottom of the menu.  This option is what displays the arrow button in the column header of every column.  Hope this helps.
