You can customize the Quick Access Toolbar via File > Options > Quick Access Toolbar.

If you are referring to the Insert bookmark command , you can add it to the QAT by right-clicking the Bookmark command on the Insert tab on the ribbon and choosing Add to Quick Access Toolbar.

Which specific command are you referring to? I'm not familiar with any "quick bookmarks" in Word. Are you perhaps using some sort of add-in?

How were the hyperlinks created? Here, using the Insert Hyperlink dialog (Ctrl+K) to add a hyperlink to a "Place in This Document" generates a link which doesn't specify a full path.

Are these hyperlinks to bookmarks or hyperlinked cross-references? Or something else?

    Hello pmjiopy89-

    Try this:

    1. Click File and go to Options
    2. Open Advanced options and scroll down to the General section
    3. If not already checked, check the box for the option "Update automatic links at open"

Let us know if this works.
