Microsoft Access Report function not working after a Microsoft/Office/Windows Update

I last used my pc on Tuesday 5 Nov. I returned on 11 Nov and there was a Microsoft/Office/Windows Update. I updated and then lost the function in my MS Access - Reports. The screen freezes and then I have to close the program.

I have been in contact with MS who have spent the last 2 days updating Windows which failed the first time. They have accessed my pc remotelyand done all the updates again.

After they finished updating today 12 Nov at about 11.30, I went into Access and confirmed the report function was working.

I then restarted my pc did a defrag as it seemed to be running really slowly and the returned to MS Access. Then the same issue occurred, I could not open the report(s) my screen froze and I had to close the program/

I was advised to share my issue here.

Please advise.  Thanks

David

You are being told cock and bull stories, there is no 365 Pro

Restart your PC, when its fully loaded >Add/Remove dialogue............... select MS Office>Modify/Repair............. a repair progress window opens. retest when finished.

PS You mentioned "Work" 365 Home is not licensed for business use, there is a seperate 365 Business licesence type

    To open app in safe mode, do this;

Find the shortcut icon for your Office application.

Press and hold the CTRL key and double-click the application shortcut.

Click Yes when a window appears asking if you want to start the application in Safe Mode.

I havent used my pc between 6 Nov and 11 Nov. I came to work and had a windows/office update. I followed the instructions and then found out that the reports were not loading.

I contacted MS who then remotley accessed my pc and did the windows update. After a few attempts the update was completed and the reports in Access were working.

I did a restart and a defrag and now the reports will not open and like before the screen freezes and I have to close the program.

I have being going backwards and forwards and round and around the MS tech support. They say they can't help me I need Office professional to to qualify for tech support.

I tried to purchase Office Professional and was advised to get the 1 month free trial versioan and get MS assisitance to migrate my data from Home to Professional.

I was then told I would experience the same issues in Professional as I have in Home.

    Hi David,

I'm not sure what troubleshooting you have performed or if your reports have code or charts or simply data.

Can you create a new report?

Have you updated your video driver?

Do you have a default printer? If not, try set the default in Windows to one of the Microsoft document printers like PDF or XPS.
