OneDrive android app issue

Lenovo TB-X704F android version 7.1.1

Im trying run OneDrive app on Android device but keep getting error message "We Couldn't Sign You In There may be issues with the Account Manager on your device." cannot figure out why?

It used to work fine.

I have seen other mentions of this problem on the web but these recommend installing additional third party apps.

Heres the weird thing, on the same device I can login with a different OneDrive account and that works fine or i can create another user on my device and login to the account im having issues with and that works fine as well.

Any suggestions?

Hi Damozv,

I’m sorry that you encountered this issue.

Because most of the problems will be gradually resolved with the iteration of the version, so if your OneDrive app didn’t update to the latest version, please update the OneDrive app.

And as the error message said, the issue maybe related to Account Manager, so please try to clear your OneDrive accounts in Account Manager, then log in again to see the result.

Besides, there is a workaround may useful to you:

If you can, or have access to it, enable Android for Work Profile on your device. Install OneDrive into your work profile space, and sign in to OneDrive. It should work. For app launch speed, since adoptable storage could be/is on, move the OneDrive app to internal storage. The app should now work as normal [using the Android for Work functionality. You'll notice this as you use the app, etc].

If you don't have access to the Android for Work Profile functionality [say, for instance, your company/corporate IT hasn't enabled this on/for your device], there is an experimental and free app on the Google Play Store called Island. Installing and activating this app will enable Android for Work profile on your device. Follow the app's instructions to "clone/install" OneDrive into the Work profile space, then setup OneDrive. It should work.
