Excel - Graphs re-format each time document is closed

Greetings,

Having an odd issue; I've searched everywhere but no luck.  Maybe it was the search words I used.

I send out a monthly Excel document that displays graphs with large font.  Each time the document is closed and reopened, the text box size on the graph data labels resets, causing the value to display on two lines.  Is there anyway to "hard set" these text boxes on the graph?  I've tried saving the document a few different ways, setting the text box by dragging or by entering in a size, etc.

Sorted it out!  In case anyone else encounters the issue, resizing does not save.  However, if you enter Format Data Labels -> Size and Properties -> Alignment, un-selecting the "Wrap Text" will save upon close/reopen correctly.

    Hi Ruskin,

Thank you for the quick response!

I'm trying to accomplish something slightly different; I need the font to stay a large size for visibility, but want it to display normally in a larger text box.  I can edit all the text boxes, but when Excel is closed they automatically reset to not fitting again.

Why don't you try using a little small text size as a workaround?

    Change the chart text font

    1. Right-click the chart title and click Font.
    2. Click the Font tab, and enter the new size in the Size box.

    I hope this helps!
