I just purchased a new windows laptop and I'm trying to get powerpoint to save slides as hi res JPEGS. In the past with all of my other computers I would run Regedit go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER  > software > Microsoft> Office> Powerpoint and add the 300 decimal value and I'd be all good. But on this laptop there are NO program folders for any of the office programs I have on the laptop. Now what?

Hi BrUtAlMaStEr9,

I’m glad you found a solution and sorry for not being help you.

Besides, I found a possible solution but I have n’t had time to tell you, sorry about that. I want to share with you, maybe it will be helpful to you and other members of the community.

I notice that you said this is a new Windows laptop, I've done some research and found that this is usually the case when users bought a device with Microsoft Office already pre-installed, particularly with Office 365, users won’t see an Office key under Microsoft in Registry.

As for this, the solution is to reset the registry setting, there is an official document explaining how to do this (It's a Word guide, but it still works for PowerPoint): How to reset user options and registry settings in Word

I'm really sorry I didn't find this earlier. Although your problem was solved by reinstalling, I still hope this method can help the members with the same problem to solve the problem more easily.

Thank you for choosing to post in the community. If you have any questions, please feel free to come back and we are always happy to help you.

Best Regards,

Bryce

I got it! Thank you everyone for your help. I did two things, I'm not sure which one it was that fixed it. I verified my identity on the new computer then I redownloaded office again. After a restart all the folders showed up. I added the ExportBitmapResolution Value, restarted again and everything is saving High Resolution. Thank you everyone for your help.

Please take a look in Software>Wow6432Node to see if they're in there. 32-bit and 64-bit Application Data in the Registry
