Forms, Math, and Immersive Reader

I am super excited that Forms now works with Immersive Reader. However, I am having trouble getting it to show math equations correctly when in Immersive Reader. For example when an equation with multiplication and exponents is written, it appears correctly in the Forms screen, but when Immersive Reader is opened, it shows as \left(2^5-4\right)-3\times\left(2+1\right). Immersive Reader then reads the backslash and left and right as it reads the equation. (See picture below) This will be very confusing to my 6th graders that already struggle with reading. How do I type in equations, exponents, and fractions so that immersive reader will show and read them correctly?

I am using the Math feature in Forms to type the equations. It should also be noted that the equations show correctly in Immersive Reader in OneNote.

Hi RJackson313,

According to your description, I have tested on my side and there is a same issue in Chrome browser.

In Chrome browser, when I create a quiz and type the equations as your provided, then I click the preview button on the top-right corner, and open it with Immersive Reader, I got a wrong formula show like yours, but when I try to share this quiz to other user, they can see the correct display with the Immersive Reader.

Therefore, in the Chrome browser, there is a display issue in preview mode when you open the quiz with the Immersive Reader, but all things work fine when open it using sharing link which means there is no display mistake when students open the quiz.

Besides, according to my test, you can also create and open a quiz normally in any situation in Edge browser.

Please have a try and share with me your results.

Regards,

Higgins

    Hi RJackson313,

    Sorry for the delay reply.

Very nice to hear that my answer could meet your needs.

According to your description, this issue persist in Edge browser, but the test in my last rely shows that all things work fine in Edge browser but issue occur in Chrome browser which means this issue may cause by browser setting.

Therefore, I have tried to reset Chrome settings to default and it works. Please try to follow the suggestions to reset Edge browser to check the result:

choose to clear Edge browser data under ...->Settings->Clear Browse Data, then choose what to clear part>click clear.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Regards,

    Higgins

Thanks for your quick answer. I tried sharing the link with someone and it did show the correct display for them. That is what I need.

I should mention that I was using the Edge browser to create and preview immersive reader when the issue began. Today, everything seems to be displaying correctly on the same device and still in edge browser. Could a weak internet connection cause this problem?
