screen capture using windows + shift + s not going directly to onenote

I've been using onenote for a couple of years now specially their screen clipping feature which is so easy and reliable. I set it to automatically place the clipping on the quick note and adding new page everytime i do screen clipping. This is easy and reliable since you can go back and check again if you need the previous clip and doesn't cause extra effort to copy and paste the clip everytime you need one. But since we upgrade to windows10, the automatic save has been lost.  so everytime i do a new screen clipping using windows+shift+S i need to open a new file (ex. word, onenote) and paste it, unlike before that it was automatically be in one note. Is there a solution for this to be back again? Thank you.

Hi Glaiza,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by Windows update.

I test that feature on my side and here are my test results:

  1. I can take a screenshot and save it directly when I take a screenshot via clicking OneNote>Insert>Screen Clipping.
  2. I can also take a screenshot via the shortcut directly. However, the screenshot wouldn't save into quick note directly. The same as you mentioned.

That feature may be changed during the Windows update. As a workaround, you can use the OneNote quick icon to take a screenshot and save it into Quick notes directly. You can follow the steps below to do that:

  1. Right-click OneNoteicon>OneNote icon defaults>Take screen slipping.

  1. Click OneNote icon>Select the location you want to save your screenshot>Check the option Don't ask me again and always do the following>Send to Selected Location.

After that, we can take a screenshot and save it directly to quick notes via clicking the OneNote icon. Thanks for your understanding.

Regards,

Neo
