Email notifications for custom work item fields

Hi,

I've created a custom field using a people\resource pick-list of valid Azure DevOps users on our Bug and PBI work item templates. I would like the person to get notified whenever they are added to this field and the work item saved. However, I can't see a way to do this for custom fields. Does Azure DevOps have this capability?
