Frustrating Margin/Ruler Problem

Hey guys,

I am frustrated because I somehow messed up my setting and CAN NOT reset it to default. I have deinstalled office and reinstalled it too and nothing changes anything.

I have these weird bars in my ruler and they prevent me from typing across the whole page and just hide the text instead.

I have reset the margin settings, deleted the files that were supposed to keep information and are hidden in Mac's deepest library settings, and even reinstalled Microsoft Word. I don't know who to get rid of this annoying problem!!

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for reaching out.

I'm Emmie Lou, an independent advisor who is happy to help you in solving your problem.

As I can see on your screenshot, your page has two columns that's why you encounter a problem in encoding. You may check the column under the layout tab and select only one column.

I hope this helps. Just feel free to let me know if you need further assistance after you try the suggestion.

Best Regards,
Emmie Lou

To benefit other members who may encounter the same concern, I've made a summary of this.

    Problem description:

Word page is split into multiple sections, causing text to be hidden.

    Problem environment:

    Word 365

    Suggestions:

Go to the Layout tab > Columns > change the setting to One Column

Hoping this works for someone else.
