One Note - Can't Sync - Error code: 0x2 bdf5f

Hi,

So My notes have not been syncing however I just noticed this now and have notes that are not updated online. The notebook says the link has been deleted and there is no link to copy. I believe this notebook is just cached on my computer. I want to make sure the notes I have are updated online and not online to overwrite my notes on the app.

I am trying to copy the notebook to a new one but app won't let me because they are not synced....what do I do?

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the query and I apologize for the inconvenience.

I would like to suggest you try the followings:

  1. Firstly, please backup all the new notes in the notebooks which haven't been synced up to OneNote Online in OneNote on Mac, as any unsynchronized data may be lost once you close the notebook.
  2. In OneNote on Mac, close an affected notebook.. (You may choose a notebook as a test first)
  3. Go to OneDrive online, locate the notebook and open it in the browser first, clickOpen In OneNotebutton in the ribbon to open the notebook in OneNote desktop application, put the backup notes which haven't been sync originally in the notebook and check if they will sync normally.

Also, you can try to directly put your new notes in the notebook when you open it in the browser, and click Open in OneNote button to open the notebook in desktop application.

In addition, please follow the troubleshooting steps from the following article, see if this fixes the issue:

Fix issues when you can't sync OneNote

If the issue persists, please provide the following information for further troubleshooting:

1.A screenshot of the error message..

2.The current version of OneNote on your Mac. On Mac: OneNote menu>About Microsoft OneNote

3.Does the issue happen in all your notebooks or a specific notebook?

4.Is your notebooks stored on OneDrive for Business?

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,
