Thanks for the query and I apologize for the inconvenience.
I would like to suggest you try the followings:
- Firstly, please backup all the new notes in the notebooks which haven't been synced up to OneNote Online in OneNote on Mac, as any unsynchronized data may be lost once you close the notebook.
- In OneNote on Mac, close an affected notebook.. (You may choose a notebook as a test first)
- Go to OneDrive online, locate the notebook and open it in the browser first, clickOpen In OneNotebutton in the ribbon to open the notebook in OneNote desktop application, put the backup notes which haven't been sync originally in the notebook and check if they will sync normally.
Also, you can try to directly put your new notes in the notebook when you open it in the browser, and click Open in OneNote button to open the notebook in desktop application.

2.The current version of OneNote on your Mac. On Mac: OneNote menu>About Microsoft OneNote
3.Does the issue happen in all your notebooks or a specific notebook?
4.Is your notebooks stored on OneDrive for Business?
