There is only one file in my One Drive because I had checked the “manage storage” and “what’s taking up space?” in One Drive. It’s a file from One Note app version on my laptop downloaded from Microsoft Store.
I had been using this One Note file for recording. All the recording files add up to at least 3 to 4 GB and I am very sure of the size because I had downloaded them before I deleted them. When I was notified that the One Note file has exceeded
the storage limits of 5 GB, I wasn’t allowed to edit the One Note file which means I couldn’t delete what is inside of my One Note file to reduce the size of it. This is the first issue.
Because of the urgency to use the One Note file, I had no choice but to purchase an upgrade to my storage to reduce the size of my One Note file. After the upgrade of storage to 50 GB, I was able to edit the One Note file. I started
to delete all the recording files which I had mentioned that they add up to at least 3 to 4 GB. I checked both the “manage storage” and “what’s taking up space?”, the One Note file did not reduce its size but rather it increased from 5 GB to 5.06 GB.
I knew One Note app does retain the previous history versions of every page and can be retrieved by clicking “show versions”, so I
disable the history page versions by clicking as what I have attached below, a loading icon had pop up which said something like “deleting all previous page version”. That’s how I know it can be deleted and had been deleted. Still, the One Note file did not reduce its size but remains at 5.06 GB. This is the second issue.
I have tried to unlink One Drive to this PCas suggested by Microsoft One Drive Support. It does not help the situation. One Note file did not reduce its size but remains at 5.06 GB.
So they suggest me to seek answers in this forum in the end.
