Embedded PDF will not open In Excel

I know there are many questions listed in the forum regarding this issue.  I can't seem to find an answer that is working for me.

The details:

Excel 2016

Acrobat Reader DC

Windows 7 enterprise  sp 1

I embed the PDF by using the basic Insert Object.

But nothing is happening, I was able to open them as I started my project but now - I can't open any of the files.

I don't even get an error message.

Can anyone shed some lite on this for me?

I appreciate any help.

Thank you!

    Hi Jules,

I'm Craig, an Independent Advisor and I'll do my best to help you today. Have you tried to check in your Acrobat file first:

    Goto EDIT -> PREFERENCES...

    On the GENERAL Category.

UNCHECK the 'Enable Protected Mode at startup'

Then go back into EXCEL & check if it works?

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

    Regards,

    Craig.

    Hi Craig!

Thanks for taking time to help me.

I don’t have the option to “Enable Protected mode...” In DC Reader.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks Craig.

We opted to do it in Word. It works fine.

    Thank you for your time.
