Saving a Custom Date Format

I frequently use a date and time formatted as mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss .  Each time I want to use that format I need to create a custom format.  Is there a way I can save the custom format so it appears as a selection in the Custom category?  Or better yet, in the standard Date Category?

Set up a macro for the format that you want then attach that macro to the Quick Access Toolbar.

You can then click that button once to apply it to any cell in any Workbook that you want.

    Hi Thomas,

Thanks for posting here. I am afraid that Excel is not supporting to save a customized date format for the program, but the format is retained within the workbook, so I suggest you save a workbook with the date format as a template(.xltx), then every workbook created from it would have that date format. Also, you could follow the steps in this linkto auto-open the workbook when launching Excel.

I would find whether there is a VBA plan to achieve this, thanks for your understanding and patience.

Please feel free to post back if you need further assistance or have any experience to share.

    Have a nice day: )

    Best Regards,

    Oliver
