Excel hyperlink not working

I have a hyperlink in an Excel Spreadsheet and when I click it I get a message “Unable to open –“then the link” – cannot download the information you requested”

When I put this link in a Word document I get the same result, it fails.

When I put the same link in an Outlook email it takes me to the website in the link without an error.

When I use “from Web” under “Data” in Excel I get “Unable to Connect (429): Too many Requests”

When I use this same link in a VBA module using CreateObject("MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP") it fails to do the .send.

When I put this same link directly into a browser, IE, Chrome or Edge it works every time.

This is the link that fails in Excel - https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-house-in-eltham,+vic+3095%3b/list-1?activeSort=solddate&includeSurrounding=false

When I use a slightly different link - https://www.realestate.com.au/buy/property-house-in-eltham,+vic+3095/list-1?includeSurrounding=false&activeSort=price-asc&source=refinement it works every time whether it is from Excel, Word, Outlook, VBA or any browser.

Can anybody give me some clue as to why this is happening, Please.

    Hello John,

I've tried to replicate your concern here on my end, using the links you've provided. I encountered the same scenario in Excel, Word, and Outlook. I can say that the link breaks in Word and Excel, but Outlook reads it properly. Since the same thing happens on my end, most probably the URL in question is at fault. I would recommend that you contact the website's admin for assistance.

Should you have any other concern, don't hesitate to post back in the community.
